An Interview with Robert Whaley

Professor Whaley delves into his research that led to the 1993 creation of the CBOE Market Volatility Index ("VIX") for the Chicago Board of Options Exchange, exploring how it is often misunderstood by those that could benefit from its insights the very most. He ponders the future of the VIX, touching on how it will impact decision making moving forward and whether it is as widely follows by investors as it was in the 1990s.
