Introducing the VIX

The 1993 launch of CBOE's Volatility Index by FMRC's own Bob Whaley changed the way investors considered the stock market on all fronts - providing investors with a logical, evidence-based form of measuring levels of risk in the market.

Conferences in the 1990s sparked important conversations related to risk management, market reform, volatility, and international investments with a common sense of proactivity to ensure history, in the sense of the market crash of 1987, never repeated itself.
